A month ago I lunched a discussion forum but the site gets no traffic! I submitted it to Google and Bing and it's indexed but why it gets no traffic from the search engine?

Have you correctly optimized your forum web pages with title, description, and H1, H2, H3 tags?

Focus entirely on on-site optimization at this stage! Create a blog and post there some quality content that will attract traffic which will then become users!

Make a list of forums that are related, then start participating on those forums. Make sure to have your link in your signature. Also, Bookmark all of the best posts of your forum. Its not the traffic you should worry about its getting people to sign up. Lots of forums have traffic but little users.

To get traffic from search engine you should have to create unique content for your forum like create thread based on subject which is in current trend and for which people want to share their views or know others views. This type of content will help your forum to get traffic from search engine because the more people take participate in that thread, your forum will get more content which google likes.

Participate in forum discussion, then build credibility. Some website will allow you to have your own signature, that will help you create traffic on your website. Yet be careful, for you might get ban if you will abuse it. You can also link a word on your comment, so that it will direct other users to your website.
