My computer laptop is getting very hot and no matter what I do I can't cool it down now I came across an article about "how to cool the laptop computer down" that mentioned reducing processor power to 50%.

How to do it on windows 7?

Click on on the icon that looks like a battery (that shows the battery life or charge) then click on "more power options" next to your current power plan click on "change plan settings" then click on "change advanced power plan setting" scroll down an locate "processor power management" click on the plus icon then click on the plus icon again next to "maximum processor state" now you can set the maximum power for on-battery and plugged-in.
