RUN Java Applet?

I am using one of those sites that allow you to download YouTube videos the websites is the best but I am a bit considered as it's the only one that has this: A Java Applet window pops up and I have to press RUN to be able to begin download. My question what are the the risks.

It also says this:

Only run known Java Applets the otherwise you can be hacked! Most the websites that engage in video download are not to be trusted.

I don't recommend it. However if you trust the site then power to you.
