I have just stumbled upon a few post where the author was saying that shared hosting is not very secure and it's very vulnerable to attack, is this really true and if it's true what can we do to protect our shared hosting?

Re-read that thread. Search these forums for other topics discussing the same thing. Then re ask this question. Most of it has been answered already.

I don't get it, let see, a website is hosted on a shared hosting and the webmaster took all the necessary measures to protect it from SQL injection and unauthorized account access then what issues are we talking about?

Read these
http://resources.infosecinstitute.com/ri...ng-server/
http://gigenet.com/blog/key-differences-...d-hosting/
http://www.csoonline.com/article/732443/...ng-attacks
http://www.mastercard.com/us/company/en/..._Final.pdf

Actually read these especially the first and last in detail.

These are not the only resources to read but the info is every where. Do some research if you're actually worried. Hence why I have been saying all along fully managed hosting is the best choice for 90% of the people hosting and would eliminate the vast majority of issues security and other wise.

If you still have questions, which you should let's get the topic going into some actual discussion. Other wise I have done enough help on this topic.

The only disadvantage of shared hosting that I see is its "shared IP address" but the rest is pretty good.
Remember that it only costs a fraction of what you pay for VPS and Dedicated hosting!

Then you did not actually read all I linked to a couple posts above AND you did not do further research on your own. Which is the most important step.

If that is the only issue you see, that is for you to choose, the rest should not stop with that. You're still missing many of the main facts about what was actually mentioned here. There are exploits that work ONLY in a shared env like that and soooo much more.
