I have been thinking about it for the last few days I am not sure that this is a great idea because this will stop users from posting I believe once they see that best answer had been chosen. Also some users may get offended if their post did not get marked as best.

What do you think?

Users are humans and many humans can be strange, so exactly for the reasons you're stating I did not put things like 'best answers' and 'top posters' on my forum.

Why do you need a best answer when you have a reputation feature. If users likes your support it will +1 you.

I found some difficulties as a user than the option "Best Answer"

I can't able to find the posts where someone mentioned me like @kevinmax - If I get notifications for this, I can be in the part of that discussion at time then checking of all the new unread threads.
I need to know how many times a member get +1 for the same thread! Only One???
