I suggest the book rather than MDN or W3schools. I have heard good reviews from Nicholas C. Zakas books. They seem to cover more stuff about other side of things in javascript not just the language.

Mozilla Developer Network(MDN) is what I prefer to learn basic and advance javascript. W3school provide just basic information, but if you want to be a good programmer then I suggest MDN is best choice.
