Basically all google search results come from cached webpages but before those pages get included there they need to be indexed.

Google comes by scans the page for keywords and other things that determine the website content/quality after that makes a copy of that page and puts it into cash for a fast retrieving.

The SERP a user gets comes from cache not from a life site.

Indexing- Google visited your website and has added you to its database..

Caching- Google took a snapshot of your website when it last visited and stored the data in case your website went down or if there are some any other issues.

Indexing is knowing or categorising your content. Where or on what keywords should this be listed. The calculation mostly happens here.

Caching is a techy term of "temporary store". It's temporary because search engines are always updating what they've stored on your website. If you've noticed while searching on Google, you'll see a cache link. That shows what content of your website is on Google's servers.

Cache is a more techy term, as it is a temporary store of your website. Google updates their cache on timely basis, depending on what you have indicated in your sitemap.xml

The index is a much more layman term. It's like in the library, if there's a new book before the librarian put it in the right shelve, they create an index of it first.

Caching is saving the articles of a web page for fast retrieval at a specific time, usually so the same page doesn't have to be processed over and over again. where as Indexing just goes through a web page, fetches the essential details and stores it.

Basically the spiders need to access your home page and crawl whatever links it finds there. Crawl is depending on a number of factors, but let’s assume you have an easily accessible site rich with content and that the spiders have crawled every page. It's called crawling.

The next step is for them to decide whether or not to put the information they find into their index. If they find it unique and well enough, then decide to index all of it. Great! At this point, you can say that your pages have been indexed, called indexing.

Caching is the process where your WebPages snapshot is taken by the Google. Indexing is the process where Google add your WebPages to their database and deliver that information in Google SERP.

Indexing means search engine are crawled the web pages and stored it in the database.
Caching is nothing but taking a snapshot of the web page and stored locally on user's hard drive or search engine database for faster retrieval.

an “indexed” page is a page that has been crawled by a search engine spider and filed away in that search engine’s index for later use, and a “cached” page is one that might actually show up in search results.

Caching means saving a copy of your web page

Indexing means going through your web page content and storing it in the search engines database for different keyword phrases and search terms that are present on your page

When you create a website or web page, the crawlers of the different search engines (called as internet Bots) crawl the web pages and index their content into their web servers. So that, they can reply to a search query with the relevant and most useful resource and for that crawlers generally used the information of Meta Data on the web pages, but with the increase of the indexing of web pages the search engines now refer the website content instead of using META DATA in order to provide the most useful resource .

Webpage cached is an indexed view of a web page which shows how crawlers/spiders/bots will read your web page upside down or make a duplicate copy on their servers. Yeah..that’s right!!! Up Side Down. Because the process of crawling is accomplished from top to down and that’s why it is always advisable to let your content as above as possible by removing extra coding, this technique helps in the rankings.
