That would be 2 way link exchange.

Website A links to Website B which in turn links back to Website A

Cross linking refers to the process of linking between two sites. Whether or not they are owned by the same person, cross linking is the process on which the internet is built. It allows users to reference sites with content similar to that which they are already viewing, and may be of further interest to them.

A cross-link is a bond that links one polymer chain to another. They can be covalent bonds or ionic bonds. "Polymer chains" can refer to synthetic polymers or natural polymers (such as proteins).

Cross Linking- a strategy that can come in handy to get high search engine rankings, by leveraging multiple domains owned by you. Search engines value these links, as they are from relevant sites, with related content- and you stand a chance of getting a better rank.
Cross linking can be really beneficial for you, if you have related sites. This will not only lead to a better user experience, but also a chance of a better rank from the search engines. Stick to quality and relevant content- stay away from over linking and you will be fine.

While this may seem obvious, it's important to make the sites different enough so that it at least seems that a user could learn something new or different from the other site or "penalties" may be assessed.

Cross Linking is a process of linking between two websites. It is generally done for the purpose of generating back-links. Google doesn't give importance to this SEO activity therefore SEO experts don't recommend it.

Cross-linking is where two sites link to each other. Depending upon the intent, usage and frequency of the practice, it can be a good thing or a bad thing.

If links are placed between two, relevant sites where each owner is highlighting the content of the other, and if doing so results in an improved visitor experience, there really is nothing wrong with it. Provided each site is quality and not involved in some bad neighborhood.

However, if the practice is used repeatedly and if the intent is to improve rankings, this is considered manipulation, a spammy practice and dangerous to your site.
