Destructor usually deletes any extra resources allocated by the object.

A destructor is called when the object is destroyed. In some programming languages, you have to manually dispose of objects you created, but in PHP, it's handled by the Garbage Collector, which keeps an eye on your objects and automatically destroys them when they are no longer needed.

In object-oriented programming, a destructor (sometimes shortened to dtor) is a method which is automatically invoked when the object is destroyed.

It is used to cleanup the stuff when the object is about to die. It is called automatically if specified when object is going to be removed/die.

A destructor is a special method called automatically during the destruction of an object. Actions executed in the destructor include the following:

Recovering the heap space allocated during the lifetime of an object
Closing file or database connections
Releasing network resources
Releasing resource locks
Other housekeeping tasks

In object-oriented development, a destructor (sometimes reduced to dtor) is a technique which is instantly invoked when the item is damaged.

Destructor will have an exact same name as the class prefixed with a tilde (~) and it can neither return a value nor can it take any parameters. Destructor is called when objects are destroyed.

A destructor serves the exact opposite purpose, of destroying an object when it is going out of scope.

Most programming languages provide default constructor and destructor in case the programmer doesn't provide one, that is, to create an object without explicit initial value and deallocate memory allocated to the object.
