so i would like to suggest you to opt for blogger instead of word press.

I have used both and I personally like WordPress for obvious reasons. First the CMS is easy to customize and comes with tons of themes and plugins with which you can create any kind of website. Secondly its open source so the development with it is scalable and has a better community IMO.
